Friday, 9th March 2018

Victoria Racing Club (VRC) Chief Executive Officer Neil Wilson has congratulated VRC Chairman Amanda Elliott on behalf of the Club after she was named the winner of the Victorian Wakeful Club’s Lady of Racing Award. Mrs Elliott yesterday became the 23rd recipient of the award, which is run by the Victorian Wakeful Club, in partnership with Racing Victoria, to celebrate women who have made an outstanding contribution to the thoroughbred racing and breeding industries. Mrs Elliott became the first female Chairman of the VRC in February last year, and is the 21st Chairman in the VRC’s 154-year history. She was elected to the VRC Committee in 2002, making her the second female committee member ever appointed. She went on to become the first female Vice Chairman in 2011. The VRC congratulates Lady of Racing Award nominees Casey Bruce, Teresa Poon and Jackie Noonan.
