Japanese Stayers Entered for Cups
Japanese stayers Chestnut Coat and Sole Impact have been confirmed as entrants for this year's $5 million Caulfield Cup and $7.3 million Melbourne Cup, reports racing.com. The connections of both horses will be hoping they can emulate the success of fellow Japanese stayers Delta Blues and Pop Rock who ran 1-2 in the Melbourne Cup in 2006. "Chestnut Coat and Sole Impact are both quality horses and we identified them as potential Cups horses some time ago, so it's very pleasing that their connections have already announced that they will be sending them to Melbourne for the Spring Racing Carnival," said RV's general manager of international and racing operations, Paul Bloodworth.
