NSW Orange-based Eagle Park Stud announced its 2010 stallion fees:

$11,000 Byblos (Hussonet-Brittany's Dream, by World Watch): Gr1-winner with multiple Group-placings in South America.

$6,600 Barbajuan (Danehill Dancer-Courtier, by Saddler's Hall): Gr1-placed in Europe & winner of the UK Gr3 Sandown Solario Stakes.

Eagle Park Stud Appoints Marketing Manager
NSW Orange-based Eagle Park Stud has announced the appointment of Michael Glenn as marketing and nominations manager, according to Australian Thoroughbred. Glenn, who has been involved in bloodstock insurance, sales and marketing with a large equestrian wholesale company, is a graduate of Equine Business Management at the Orange campus of the University of NSW. Owned by Peter & Jan Ward, Eagle Park is standing two stallions in 2009: Byblos $11,000), a Chilean Gr1 winner by champion Mr. Prospector sire Hussonet, & debutant Barbajuan ($6,600), a leading European 2YO by internationally successful sire Danehill Dancer. Both Byblos (who served over 100 mares in 2008) & Barbajuan will be paraded at an open day to be conducted at Eagle Park on August 23.

Danehill Dancer Boosts Barbajuan At Eagle Park
Meanwhile the extraordinary twin-hemisphere multiple stakes success recorded last weekend by Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) provided a major pre-breeding season boost for Irish-bred 10-time-winning 8YO stallion & new resident sire Barbajuan (Danehill Dancer-Courtier, by Saddlers' Hall) at Peter Ward's Orange-based Eagle Park in NSW. In 24 hours last Saturday-Sunday: last season's European Champion juvenile & now 3YO colt Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer-Starlight Dreams, by Black Tie Affair) blitzed his rivals by 4.5-lengths in the Gr1 Irish 2000 Guineas (8 furlongs) at The Curragh; 3YO filly Again (Danehill Dancer-Cumbres, by Kahyasi) won the Gr1 Irish 1000 Guineas (8 furlongs) at The Curragh; 3YO colt Grand Ducal (Danehill Dancer-Mood Swings, by Shirley Heights) won Ireland's Gr3 Gallinule Stakes (10 furlongs) at The Curragh; & 4YO gelding News Alert (Danehill Dancer-Breaking News, by Brief Truce) won the Listed Chief De Beers Quality Handicap (1110m) at Doomben in Brisbane. On the track as a 2YO in Europe, Barbajuan won 2003's UK Gr3 Solario Stakes (7 furlongs) at Sandown Park & then finished 3rd in Italy's Gr1 Gran Criterium (1600m) at San Siro (plus 4th in Ireland's Gr1 National Stakes); subsequently in Macau, he notched placings in both 2006's Gr2 Macau Cup (1500m) at Taipa & Gr2 Director's Cup (1500m) at Taipa, before winning 2007's Gr3 Winter Trophy (1800m) at Taipa. Barbajuan makes his debut at Eagle Park for $6,600.

Irish Gr3-Winner Barbajuan Joins Eagle Park
Peter Ward at NSW's Orange-based Eagle Park is launching a new resident sire this year in Irish-bred 10-time-winning 8YO stallion Barbajuan (Danehill Dancer-Courtier, by Saddlers' Hall). On the track as a 2YO in Europe, Barbajuan won 2003's UK Gr3 Solario Stakes (7 furlongs) at Sandown Park & then finished 3rd in Italy's Gr1 Gran Criterium (1600m) at San Siro (plus 4th in Ireland's Gr1 National Stakes); subsequently in Macau, he notched placings in both 2006's Gr2 Macau Cup (1500m) at Taipa & Gr2 Director's Cup (1500m) at Taipa, before winning 2007's Gr3 Winter Trophy (1800m) at Taipa. Meanwhile last year Ward's other imported sire Byblos (Hussonet-Brittany's Dream, by Worldwatch) served over 100 mares in his 1st Australian season at $8,800 (the same fee he will stand at again in 2009).

Danehill Dancer Adds Macau Gr3
In Macau, Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a group success when Barbajuan (Danehill Dancer-Courtier, by Saddlers' Hall) scored a 0.75-lengths victory in the Gr3 Winter Trophy (1800m) at Taipa. Barbajuan defeated Northern Hero (Jetball-Our Addition, by Noble Bijou) & Sea Of Jewels (Sea Road-Jewel Of The East, by Mighty Avalanche).
