Goodwood Farm Sends Eight to Classic

With an impressive graduate list from only small sale representation which includes Inglis Classic graduate Manawanui (Oratorio), a winner of the Gr1 Golden Rose, Goodwood Farm head to this year's Classic sale with eight yearlings comprising three fillies and five colts. From the first crop of Newgate Farm's promising Group 3-winning, Gr1 Golden Rose runner up North Pacific (Brazen Beau), Lot 154 is the first foal of the talented, four-time-winning Sepoy mare Canberra. A grandson of the Listed winner Hidden Wonder (Danzero), this Laurel Oak Bloodstock-bred colt is from the family of Gr1 Caulfield Guineas winner Kenwood Melody. From the first crop of dual Group 1-winning juvenile King's Legacy (Redoute's Choice), Lot 469 is a bay filly out of the winning Thorn Park mare Mileyva from the family of Gr1 winners Brutal (O'Reilly) and Wyndspelle (Iffraaj). This filly is bred on the exact same Redoute's Choice x Thorn Park pedigree cross that has produced 19 winners from 25 runners led by the Gr1 New Zealand Oaks winner Belle En Rouge and the Group 3 winner Bella Rosa. Yarraman Park's promising young sire Brave Smash is a stallion on the rise, and Goodwood Farm will offer Lot 644 by him, a colt out of a Fastnet Rock sister to the dam of Group 3 winner De Sonic Boom (Spirit of Boom) and Listed winner Laverrod (Toronado). The final yearling from the draft to sell is Lot 769, a colt by Darley's Gr1 Golden Rose winner Astern (Medaglia d'Oro) out of the Northern Meteor mare Tempting Lady. From the family of stakes winners Tempest Morn, Good Standing and Tempt Me Not, this colt is a half-brother to trainer Chris Munce's Listed winner Smart Meteor.
