Jockey Jamie Kah will replace Daniel Stackhouse on the Jason Warren-trained Benedetta (Hellbent-Whatalovelyday, by Domesday) in the $1m Gr1 Goodwood over 1200m at Morphettville next weekend, reports racingsa.com.au. Stackhouse has been booked for Stretan Angel (Harry Angel-Stretan, by Bernardini), replacing Damien Lane who will ride star WA mare Amelia’s Jewel (Siyouni-Bumbasina, by Canford Cliffs). Local jockey Todd Pannell will ride Vilana (Hallowed Crown-Retsina, by Redoute’s Choice) for the James Cummings stable. What You Need (Supido-Intuit, by Commands) was ridden by Craig Williams last start, but he moves onto Ciaron Maher-trained Bella Nipotina (Pride of Dubai-Bella Orfana, by Star Witness) with Ben Melham to partner What You Need for the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stable. “We’re so proud of him for what he’s been through, he’s so genuine and tries his heart out,” Kent Jnr said. “He was going to be a Gr1 sprinter there is no doubt about it, unfortunately he had a throat operation which has curtailed his potential. We’re hoping he sneaks in the field, if he does Ben Melham will ride. Benny loves the horse, he knows the horse so well, he’ll have to step up again but his two runs back from a long lay off have been progressive and he’s definitely building towards a peak performance.”
