Top jockeys Jamie Kah and Ben Melham will resume riding this week in Melbourne, reports punters.com.au. Kah has been on holiday since June 8 and will resume on Saturday at Flemington. So far in 2024, she has ridden five Group 1 winners; Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes on Hayasugi (Royal Meeting-China Road, by Commands), Gr1 Australian Guineas on Southport Tycoon (Written Tycoon-Ready to Rule, by More Than Ready), Gr1 Newmarket Handicap on Cylinder (Exceed and Excel-Circular, by Street Cry), Gr1 Goodwood Handicap on Benedetta (Hellbent-Whatalovelyday, by Domesday), and the Gr1 South Australian Derby on Coco Sun (The Autumn Sun-Miss Hufflepuff, by Encosta de Lago). Melham hasn't ridden since sustaining a ruptured quad muscle in a fall on the Caulfield Heath track in April. He resumes on Wednesday at Sandown, and in 2023/24, has won the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas on Griff (Trapeze Artist-Chateau Griffo, by Sebring) and the Gr1 Australian Cup on Cascadian (New Approach-Falls of Lora, by Street Cry).
