  • Kah And Melham Return to Riding Ranks

    Wednesday, 17th July 2024

Top jockeys Jamie Kah and Ben Melham will resume riding this week in Melbourne, reports punters.com.au. Kah has been on holiday since June 8 and will resume on Saturday at Flemington. So far in 2024, she has ridden five Group 1 winners; Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes on Hayasugi (Royal Meeting-China Road, by Commands), Gr1 Australian Guineas on Southport Tycoon (Written Tycoon-Ready to Rule, by More Than Ready), Gr1 Newmarket Handicap on Cylinder (Exceed and Excel-Circular, by Street Cry), Gr1 Goodwood Handicap on Benedetta (Hellbent-Whatalovelyday, by Domesday), and the Gr1 South Australian Derby on Coco Sun (The Autumn Sun-Miss Hufflepuff, by Encosta de Lago). Melham hasn't ridden since sustaining a ruptured quad muscle in a fall on the Caulfield Heath track in April. He resumes on Wednesday at Sandown, and in 2023/24, has won the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas on Griff (Trapeze Artist-Chateau Griffo, by Sebring) and the Gr1 Australian Cup on Cascadian (New Approach-Falls of Lora, by Street Cry).
