  • Inglis Digital Finishes Year with $82m Gross

    Friday, 13th December 2024

South Australian trainer Aaron Bain has set his sights on next year’s Adelaide carnival with Dual Pressure (Denman), the top lot at Wednesday’s Inglis Digital December Sale. Bain secured the four-year-old gelding for $220,000, with plans to develop him into a star of the 2025 carnival. Bain and Ned Taylor, who head Angaston Park (formerly Lindsay Park), are excited to welcome the former Mathew Ellerton-trained runner into their stable. “He’ll come straight here and head to the races, where he should relish a class drop,” Bain said. “Then we’ll spell him and prepare him for the May carnival. He’s got strong form lines, running second to Isthmus and third to Pisanello recently, both by less than a length. I paid 10% more than I planned, but for a horse of this quality, it’s worth it.” The second-top lot of the sale was Barber (Exceed And Excel), purchased by Jason Micallef of Monarch Racing Syndications for $215,000. The 4YO gelding, offered by Godolphin, will transfer to Richard Litt’s Warwick Farm stables for the next phase of his career. Micallef hopes Barber will replicate the success of his previous Inglis Digital acquisitions. “I bought Bacchanalia earlier this year, and he nearly won the Ramornie for us,” Micallef said. “Destination, another Godolphin purchase, has been great for Friday night Canterbury and Saturday Sydney meetings. Barber’s earned over $1 million and even won during the Melbourne carnival two starts ago. He has enormous potential, and I’m optimistic he’ll be our next big winner. Shares are still available for anyone interested.” Barber was one of 14 Godolphin horses sold to different ownership groups in the December Online Sale, which grossed $627,000. Nine lots achieved six-figure prices, bringing the 2025 total of such sales on Inglis Digital to 124. The December Online Sale grossed $3,461,400, pushing Inglis Digital’s 2024 calendar year gross to $82,084,125.
