  • Evergreen Stud Farm Preview 2025 MMGC

    Friday, 3rd January 2025

Boutique NSW vendor Evergreen Stud sold 2024 Listed Anzac Day Stakes winner Epimeles at the Magic Millions Gold Coast, and multiple Group-placed Listed The Tapp-Craig winning 3YO colt Anode (see below), was in the same draft of only six yearlings. What a strike rate! In 2025, the farm will offer a select draft of six yearlings that all have bright prospects. Evergreen Stud graduate Democracy Manifest won the 2024 Gr2 Ajax Stakes and has been plying his trade in Gr1 company this spring. His half-sister by Zousain is Lot 951, and she is a daughter of winning mare Slippery Satin, a half-sister to Gr1 winner Great Shot and Listed winner Gawne. First through the ring for the Tony Bott-managed Evergreen is Lot 72, a filly by Blue Point whose oldest Australian foals are 3YOs and include class horses like Blue Stratum and Bosustow. This filly is the first foal of a daughter of Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Forensics, who trained on to add two more Gr1s as an older horse. Forensics has produced three winners including the dam of dual Listed winner Tamerlane, in addition to producing the dam of Gr3 winner Heuristic. This is the family of Snippets, Not A Single Doubt and emerging Kiwi sire Derryn. Per Incanto colt, Lot 927, is the second foal of a Savabeel mare, with multiple champion sire Savabeel really kicking goals as a damsire – he boasts five Gr1 winners already in that capacity. This colt’s dam is a full-sister to Listed Lonhro Plate winner Tilianam from the family of Gr2 winner Splurge (Savabeel), Shopaholic, and Packing Pins. Portland Sky filly, Lot 1063, is out of an unraced Snitzel mare who has been a good broodmare with three winners from as many to race. This is the family of $650,000 earner Better Get Set and goes back to Fall Aspen, Irish Lights, and Omei Sword.  Lucky Vega’s first 2YO runner was a winner and his colt, Lot 1070, is out of an unraced Zabeel mare who has produced two winners from three runners. This is the family of dual Gr1 winner Palace Line and Gr2 winner Laurinel Argie. Evergreen Stud’s final lot through the ring is Lot 1292 and this filly is worth the wait being by Harry Angel from winning mare Miss Severina (Foxwedge), who is a half-sister to Gr2 winner and $775,000 earner Brave Song. This filly’s dam is closely related to Gr2 winner Noire (Foxwedge) and Gr1 winner Galaxy Star.
