With two withdrawals from Friday's $1m Tab Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (1300m), the race appears slightly open with a number of runners looking to have chances. A winner of two Listed races from her last three starts, the Kris Lees trained Bubba's Bay (Cable Bay-Lift All Boats, by Commands) has already been scratched from the Magic Millions Snippets race, with connections feeling this race was the better option. Drawn wide in barrier 15 of 18, the Bowness Stud Magic Millions Adelaide yearling sale graduate will need to be at her best as she is meeting a better class of mare than those she been beating in the Brisbane stakes races, but the saying goes along the lines of that once a mare is in form, she should be followed. She does like to work home, so jockey Andrew Mallyon should be able to settle her back from the barrier and with the speed likely to be on from the front, Bubba's Bay should get every chance in the lucrative race. Interestingly, the current favourite is the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr trained Miss Roumbini (Zoustar-Bleu Roche, by Fastnet Rock) who may be slightly lacking the class of some of the better runners here, but using the same reason as Bubba's Bay – the 4yo comes into the race off a Gr3 third first up from a spell followed by a solid win last start, highlighting that she is clearly in form.
