  • Seven and RVL Extend Free to Air Agreement

    Wednesday, 11th June 2025

Victorian racing will continue to enjoy national free-to-air visibility, with Racing Victoria and the Seven Network confirming a renewed long-term broadcast partnership. From July 1, 2025, the deal guarantees that Racing.com will remain on free-to-air for at least another five years, affirming the sport's footprint across both metro and regional Australia via Channel 78 and Channel 68 respectively. Enhancements to broadcast quality are slated over the next 12 months, and the channel’s reach will be further strengthened by daily streaming on 7plus Sport, integrating horse racing more prominently within Seven’s portfolio of premier sporting content. The news coincides with racing.com’s broader coverage ambitions, which now include Western Australian racing alongside existing content from Victoria, South Australia, Hong Kong, and selected international events such as Royal Ascot. Racing Victoria’s Executive General Manager – Media, Content and Marketing, Andy Hoad, described the extended agreement as the foundation for “an even deeper collaboration.” He said, “We are excited to elevate both networks' coverage of Victorian racing – both on race day and beyond – by harnessing the full strength of our digital and news platforms.” Hoad added that the alliance is built on shared values and a mutual passion for racing, aiming to “deliver an enhanced experience for audiences across the country.” He also described the agreement as “a strong vote of confidence in the value Racing.com brings to the sport – not just in Victoria, but for our partners in South Australia, Hong Kong and, soon, Western Australia.” According to Hoad, the goal is “not just committing to continue the channel, but to significantly grow it over the next five years.” Seven Network’s Commercial Director of Sport, Renée Quirk, welcomed the continuation of a partnership she described as proud and meaningful. “Seven and RV have a long, proud history together and we look forward to continuing this partnership for at least the next five years,” Quirk said. “Making horse racing more accessible through greater free-to-air coverage means more Australians can experience the thrill, tradition and excitement of the sport, live and free. With a shared genuine commitment to growing the sport at all levels, this partnership with RV is incredibly meaningful for Seven.”
