Utterly dominant on debut, winning by more than three lengths over 1100m at Gosford, Peter Snowden’s 2YO filly Nazwah (Capitalist-Najoom, by Northern Meteor) heads to town this Saturday for the Keeneland September Yearling Sale Handicap (1100m). Tackling some stakes quality juveniles, Nazwah has drawn barrier 4 in the ten-horse field which will allow her to go forward and lead like she did on debut. A winner of his first three starts, which saw the Allan Kehoe trained Shaggy (Sandbar-Moonrush, by Encosta de Lago) win the Pierro Plate before he started favourite in the Gr2 Skyline Stakes where he eventually finished fifth behind Rivellino (Too Darn Hot) and Skyhook (Written Tycoon). Bred and raced by Kooringal Stud, the 2YO gelding surely must be a leading chance here off the back of two trials with apprentice William Stanley in the saddle. Fourth and fifth at his first two starts, both at group level, the Brad Widdup-trained Nashville Jack (Farnan-Dixie Chick, by Star Witness) comes into Saturday’s race with two handy trial wins to his record, including victory over Spice Baby (Tassort), an impressive maiden winner on debut earlier this week. The only unraced runner in the field is the Waterhouse and Bott trained Koibito (Satono Aladdin-Biscuit, by High Chaparral) who looks an interesting commodity with Regan Bayliss in the saddle.
