  • Velocious Headlines Latest Inglis Digital Sale

    Monday, 28th July 2025

A strong line-up of racing and breeding prospects is set to feature in the Inglis Digital July (Late) Online Sale, headlined by Group 1-winning Champion 2YO Velocious (Written Tycoon). The sale includes a diverse mix of high-class broodmares, stakes performers and racehorse share opportunities, making it one of the most anticipated catalogues of the year. Velocious earned her NZ Champion 2YO title for 2023/24 following an outstanding juvenile season highlighted by victories in the $1m Karaka Million and the G1 Sistema Stakes. Trained by Stephen Marsh, she is one of only three G1-winning 2YO fillies by Written Tycoon, joining G1 Golden Slipper winner Lady of Camelot and La Luna Rossa, whose own daughter Hidden Achievement placed in Group 1 company this season and was an Inglis Easter graduate. While Velocious is the undoubted headline act, she is surrounded by a wealth of quality bloodstock entries that add depth to the catalogue. Among the standout broodmares is Invisible Coin (Redoute's Choice), dam of Group 1 winner Gypsy Goddess, who will be offered in foal to Champion Anamoe after his first weanlings fetched up to $360,000 earlier this year. Another feature lot is Royal Mule, a Kingman half-sister to multiple Group winner Tiz Invincible, who realised $2.8m at the Chairman's Sale in May. Royal Mule's pedigree also includes promising Stakes-placed 2YO Navy Pilot. Stakes-winning mare Wild Belle (Pride of Dubai) and dual Stakes-placed Poetic Drama (Proisir) add further appeal, both being presented ready for maiden coverings this spring. Racehorse share offerings also stand out, with opportunities such as 12.5% in G1-winning filly Molly Bloom, 10% in last-start 2YO winner Aligned (Russian Revolution), and 25% in Group-placed mare Extratwo (Toronado). Additional highlights include 10% in lightly raced metro winner Federer (Dundeel) and 20% in Group-raced 2YO colt Lofty Thoughts (Snitzel), who scored impressively at his last start.
