  • Magic Millions Opens Entries for 2026 Sales

    Monday, 4th August 2025

Entries are now open for the 2026 Magic Millions Yearling Sales Series, promising to build on a record-breaking run that has cemented the event as the Southern Hemisphere’s most influential marketplace for young thoroughbreds. From the Gold Coast in January to Perth and Tasmania in February and then back to the Gold Coast and Adelaide in March, the Series is set to deliver another season of landmark results. The 2025 Gold Coast Yearling Sale set the tone when the Home Affairs filly out of Sunlight became Australasia’s highest-priced yearling, selling for $3.2 million to Japan. Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said that momentum was driving the upcoming Series across all locations. “With proven performance at all levels of the market across our Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide and Tasmanian locations, we present a Sale Series that is backed by our energy and drive to achieve commercial success across the 2026 yearling crop.” He described the flagship Gold Coast event as “a festival like no other celebrating equine excellence” where the strongest buying bench in the country ensures the finest Australasian yearlings take centre stage. Bowditch credited the Magic Millions model for delivering unmatched results. “We are proud to boast about the best auctioneers in Australia and achieving more individual buyers than any other yearling sale in the Southern Hemisphere, in turn providing greater year-on-year returns direct to our vendors,” he said. The 2025 Series not only produced the highest-priced yearling in Australasia but also generated unprecedented levels of new international investment and record numbers of unique middle-market buyers. Vendors offering stock in 2026 will again gain access to what Bowditch called “the greatest marketing tool to support the sale of your stock – the Magic Millions Race Series,” a program with more than $20 million in prizemoney and 28 races every year. The Race Series continues to evolve with initiatives such as The Syndicate and The Debut races, while the Magic Millions Racing Women’s program has reshaped ownership worldwide. In a further enhancement, the 2026 Gold Coast March Yearling Sale will adopt a new format, opening to all Australian and New Zealand-bred yearlings alongside the traditional QTIS showcase, creating a broader opportunity for breeders to participate in the Autumn sale. “Each and every year we provide the perfect springboard for the next stars of the racetrack in the sale ring,” Bowditch said. “Our team looks forward to working with our breeders and vendors in placing stock in an auction where the best possible returns are realised.” View the brochure for the 2026 Magic Millions Yearling Sales Series here.
